Oliver Wallace Deed

October 22, 1783

 

This Indenture made this 22nd day of October, 1783 between Oliver Wallace of the one part and Edward Smith of the other part both of Washington County and State of North Carolina. Witness that for and in consideration of forty pounds paid to him in hand the said Oliver Wallis by the said Edward Smith the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and hath bargained and sold, given and granted by these presents doth bargain and sell a tract of land in Washington County on the drains of Cherokee Creek containing eighty acres it being of a tract of five hundred and sixty acres granted to Jonathan Tipton by the State of North Carolina by a grant bearing ------ at Hilsborough the twenty fourth day of October in the seventh year of our independence and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty two No 196 Beginning at a Bucky Walnut and White Oak a corner of the original survey thence on the line of said survey North seventy one degrees west one hundred and nine poles to a Spanish Oak on the line of the original survey thence with Murfey's line south twenty four degrees West one hundred and six poles to a Dogwood in Mr. Watson's line thence with said line sixty degrees for thirty nine poles to the closing line of the original survey thence to the beginning corner. Eighty acres -------------------Which tract or parcel of land with all woods, waters, mines, minerals ----itaments and appurtenances to the said land belonging or in any wise apertaining the said Oliver Wallis doth hereby -----over to the said Edward Smith his heirs and assigns forever and by these presents doth bargain sell allein enfee of release and confirm the said eighty acres of land premises unto the said Edward Smith and his heirs and assigns and doth warrant and defend the said eighty acres of land and premises unto the said Edward Smith from all manner of persons claiming the same by from or under him or his heirs executors or assigns forever. In testimony whereof he hath hereunto set his hand and affixes his seal the day and year first above written.
